Exhibition Posters

The Exhibition collection records eight occasions when the public was asked to look closely, then left with more questions than it arrived with. Marta Werweiss received her retrospective. Hans Grain assembled his doubts. A courier delivered colours that had been misplaced by the administrative departments of taste. Elsewhere, a cat declined a call, a poster considered its own condition, and typography acquired a pulse. These Exhibition posters belong to a cultural history of uncertain accuracy, where gallery notices, festival programmes and reluctant curatorial decisions have survived in collage form. The event never happened. The poster is real.
